Fall Favorites! My picks!

Autumn has almost officially begun.  Here in LA we’ve had a hit and miss summer, but I have to admit that I’m looking forward to dressing for fall.  Boots, cashmere, coats and leather are all calling my name.  I get asked all the time what are my favorite things, so for now, this is my list for fall.  xoxo

Leather legging…Joseph
I’m obsessed with this ALC printed maxi!
Cashmere blend cardigan…Donna Karan
Blouses in general are my weakness right now, but specifically this Rachel Zoe neck tie blouse.
I know that the 70’s are back, but i’m all about the cropped pant right now….JBrand
Classic un-platformed pump…Manolo Blahnik
After all summer being in light polish, I’m ready to go dark…Chanel blue satin
An exotic clutch is the exclamation to any evening…Nancy Gonzalez

Cover Up!

Not only are coats a trend, Vive le rouge!

Statement coats are just one of the top trends for fall 2011. And honestly, probably one of my favorites. This is one of those accessories that when purchased with some thought behind it, will last you a lifetime. I know that some of the heavy wool and tweed textiles are beautiful and tempting, but if you’re living in sunny So.Ca, that statement piece might only being talking to you from the closet. Of course, my east coast friends have the opposite to think about.

When purchasing coats or jackets, remember their function. Short, long, fur or leather, they all play a specific role. I’d say go ahead on a splurge, but be mindful in your mindset. xoxo

My ultimate splurge. Celine motorcycle jacket
Capes are here to stay
Rachel Zoe faux fur and leather. Priced right!

London Street Style

Photograph The Cut

London fashion week is well on it’s way. We’ve seen some amazing shows specifically from Burberry Prorsum, Pringle of Scotland and Matthew Williamson. We’re seeing so much color, everything from the brightest of oranges to the most electric blues. So beautiful and wearable. As fun as it is to see what the designers are putting out, I love more, watching what’s going on outside the shows. Street style is what I like seeing the most of. How people express their individual point of view through clothes is what I find inspiring. Being fearless and unapologetic is what it’s all about. The dogs have even managed to get in on the action. xoxo

Inside Tory Burch

Tory Burch takes us on a behind the scenes look of what fashion week is all about. I love how beautiful, relaxed and colorful everything looks. Collaborating with her designers, planners and PR people, takes about a year to bring the 20 minutes we see to fruition. Although the chaos of fashion week is like no other, you would never know it by looking at Tory Burch’s team. xoxo

Fashion week has come to a close. We’ve seen amazing collections, beautiful make-up and countless celebrities gracing the front row. This week has been filled with parties, meetings and showings for the ultimate goal of designers selling their collections and eventually ending up in our closets. As stressful, overworked and exhausted everyone feels at the end of this week, one things for sure, we’ll be seeing beautiful pieces come spring. xoxo

Happiness!

The happiest people are those who think the most interesting thoughts.
Those who decide to use leisure as a means of
mental development, who love good music, good books,
good pictures, good company, good conversation
are the happiest people in the world.
And they are not only happy in themselves, they are the cause
of happiness in other.

Fenton Spring 2012

The Spring 2012 Fenton show, designed by Dana Lorenz, had some really incredible statement pieces. She uses bold colors and stones such as turquoise and coral to bring together strong silhouettes with an undeniable femininity. The crystals, pearls and gold plate metals make it easy to dress up or down, and one things for sure, you won’t go unnoticed. xoxo

P.S. As I write about something so trivial as fashion during this time of remembrance of the 9/11 attacks, I can’t help but feel so blessed to have the freedom to express my individualtiy. May we never forget the tragedy that happened 10 years ago, but that we always looks to the future with love and hope.
