Bringing Out the Big Guns

access-street-style-booties-400x295If there’s a time where boots are most in demand it would probably be now.  Across the board, the entire country is freeezing.  I know for us in so cal, 42 degrees at 8am is beyond our traditional chill.  So there’s no better time to bring out the big guns.

Tall, knee high boots not only serves the purpose for keeping warm, but they are incredibly chic worn with anything from leggings to the, if you dare, thigh high dress.  These are the times i’d love to be 5’10 so that I wouldn’t be swallowed up by the long proportions of tall boots.  But regardless, it doesn’t stop me from indulging.  Keep in mind clean, sleek lines when wearing “the beasts,” bunched up material above the knee is clearly a fashion don’t.  Function and fashion can work hand in hand even being a little vertically challenged.  xoxo

Bob-ing

2012-long-bob-hairstyles-with-bangs-modern-hairstyle-long-shortThe look of the moment has no doubt moved from long flowing locks, to an edgier take of the conservative bob.  With razor cut edges and choppy layers, the bob is no longer the mini van, mom look. Shorter hair can be so much more fashion forward than the traditional, but sexy longer hair styles.  The only draw back in keeping a shorter do fresh is the frequent trims that are necessary for short hair.  Although going short can cause a bit a panic at the moment of truth, in the end hair is hair and no change is permanent.  xoxo

Put a Lid on It

As I’m getting ready to hit the snow, a proper wardrobe is key to enjoying oneself in zero degrees.  Yes looking cute is always a must, but honestly warmth and comfort take priority.  On the top of my list is a traditional beanie.  As my dad always harped on me growing up, “Lisa put a hat on,! heat escapes from our head,” you were right dad.  There were many a fights not wanting to mess with the coiffed mane.:)  Now that I’m old enough to see the light, a beanie is not only important in function, but it’s form has won a place on my hard head.  xoxo

Sincerely Jules
