Blurred Lines

photo 1I got into blogging as a “dare” from my husband.  Looking for something different to do, he suggested that I start a blog and put to paper all the style advice and shopping do’s and don’ts I did for so many of my friends.  I can’t say I thought “what a great idea” when he suggested it, but in the end I’m happy that I did and I’m looking forward to the changes my site will heed.

With that said Instagram has become such a huge venue to showcase fashion, style and living, that the lines become blurred with blogging about what I find beautiful and/or photographing my personal style and life as I see it.  Sometimes it’s just so much more fun (and inspirational) to take a corky picture of my dog than it is to write again about another fashion trend that has been recycled.  Either way the fact still remains that I love fashion and style, and more and more interior design, that’ll I’ll keep doing what I’m doing for the sheer love of it.  So come with me on my journery, follow Show and Tell Me on Instagram and lets keep redefining our style.  Have a great Sunday! xoxo

In Distress (ed)

la-modella-mafia-Street-Style-2013-chic-distressed-denim-1Distressed denim has been high on the must have list for what seems like decades.  Each generation has it’s way of dressing the staple.  Whether high waisted, low waisted, pockets exposed, button undone, worn with heels vs flats etc etc, the styling is endless with this laid back appeal.

Lately, my eye is being pulled towards black distressed denim.  I love the added edginess that black brings and you can still consider it a basic/classic splurge.  The only thing I would caution about is the amount of distressing the denim holds.  Too much of a good thing can just plainly be…too much.  xoxo

The Animal Inside

leopardprint_feet_streetstyle_lionsandwolvesIt’s no secret my love for leopard.  The funny thing is growing up I was reminded to much of “Peg Bundy” and couldn’t stand it, but leopard has really grown on me and has become my go to print.  Pumps have taken center stage the last few seasons and a leopard heel is becoming my current obsession.  If wearing animal on your feet is still a bit of a shocker for you, try a shoe with a little less fur.  A cute flip flop or sandal may just be enough to make you purrr.  Happy Monday.  xoxo

Hippie Chic

birkenstock-620x396So, it looks like the Birkenstock has made it’s way back to “it” status.  I’m not sure that this is a trend to follow, but there is something appealing about the “woodstock” icon.  Besides the obvious of being comfortable and I guess somewhat of a classic, it gives a bit of an edge and grunge to any feminine line.  Whether you buy into the look, or not, keep true to your style, and maybe borrow a friends pair first. 🙂  xoxo
