Isabel Marant for H&M isn’t due to hit stores till November, but today part of the lookbook “leaked.” There’s no denying the designers style and the low cost pieces are amazing. We see familiar aztecan prints and her signature embellished jackets, but my favorite piece that I will definitely be scouring for is the fringed cardigan…Love, love, love. Here are a few looks. Hope you enjoy. xoxo
Wearing scarves as a head rag is one of my favorite accessories. Not only does it change the vibe of what you’re wearing, but it’s also a great trick when there’s no time to wash and dry your hair. The traditional triangle tie has been a staple of mine for at least a decade, but lately I’m loving just a thinner strip across the forehead. It’s a combination of edgy with a sprinkle of sweet rolled together. But beware, if not worn with some style it can look like you’re cleaning house vs ready to leave it. Play around with colors and textures, I definitely will. xoxo
Spring and summer was all about white polish. Some thought it looked too much like white out, but I loved it and it was a good departure from all the neon. Now that we’re moving into fall I’m finding myself being drawn back to black. CHANEL first introduced black satin about 7 years ago, and I have to admit I was slow to warm. But as classic as Essie’s Mademoiselle is to our drawer, black has also earned it’s spot. Happy Friday! xoxo
In the middle of NYFW we’re seeing many beauty trends taking shape for spring 2014. Orange, for one, on nails and lips, is beginning to look like the “it” color. Although we’re bombarded with what’s coming in the future, 6 months is to far in the distance for me to think of what colors I’ll be wearing. The important question now is, what’s relevant today going into the fall season.
Rich dark hues is what the answer is. From smoldering cat eyes to sexy deep pouts, fall make up runs the gamut with a brooding vibe. Wether you are, or not one to take the time to line, shimmer or smudge with the trends, keep in mind you can’t go wrong with being you. xoxo
New York fashion week is just days away. The week of shows, parties and overall chaos is a love hate relationship, but the one constant that follows us is “what are you wearing.” We’re still technically in summer and although New York seems to be cooling off some, the heat and humidity is always a fashion don’t. Wearing comfortable, functional clothing is my goal when dressing. Whether a night out or a marathon day of work, being comfortable and stylish is the goal.
Blouses have been on the scene for a while now and they have become a go to staple in my closet. From YSL vintage to any pattern and color of the rainbow, blouses have left grandma status and they’ve become a fashionable friend.
Opening the blouses and wearing them buttoned down to the sternum is my favorite way in sexing up a conservative blouse. Depending on your bust size coming up a bit higher may be a necessity, but that’s why they invented double sided tape. In any case, whether you’re dealing with humidity or just a case of fashion burn out, go back to basics and bring back the lady within. xoxo
