As some of you may know, I (we) are in the process of building of our home. It’s been quite the journey to get to where we are today. Although I must say, it’s been a great experience and I’ve enjoyed (almost) every moment. We are still roughly about 3 1/2 months away from “move in,” and I can’t really say that the end of October is really feasible, but we take it day by day, and see how it will shake out in the end.
We started this process in Mar of 2015. When I think back to that time, it seems like soooo long ago. So much has happened in these few years. Our son was 6 years old and in the middle of kindergarten and we basically started down this path of chaos for him. Our original home was a small (960 sq ft) beach bungalow. And in all honesty, if it weren’t for the obvious, “we can’t fit one more person in this house,” we probably wouldn’t of torn it down. Our small beach bungalow was plenty big for me, and there wasn’t a day I didn’t come home and utter, “I love our little house.”
Fast forward almost 2.5 years and here we are. Knee deep in saw dust and weekly voucher signatures that is starting to create a PTSD. But in all honesty, I can’t complain. It’s been such a fun and creative journey and a perfect transition away from a business I decided to walk away from early in 2015. Although there are still many daily decisions to be made, everything from socket covers to steel railings, my wheels are already gearing up for my next adventure…Hmmm, only time will tell where my path goes next. Till then, enjoy the most recent pics. More will be posted on Insta as the project gets completed, and I’ll do another post on the inside as it gets more interesting to look at. We’re really looking forward to calling this place home!
