Nice Buns!

streetstyle7925-webWe’re making our way towards spring and that usually means a more laid back approach to beauty and fashion.  As temps rise and humidity starts to wreak havoc, we need sure fire styles to keep our mane under control.

Chignon’s and buns are not just for grandma’s anymore.  The 21st century re-vamp has made buns ultra cool and sophisticated.  Whether pulled low at the nape or high on the crown, wrapping our hair up has made skipping shampoo’s that much easier.  xoxo

Free For All Hair

Fashion really feels like it’s a free for all.  Just when you think you’re on trend with silver skinnies, it’s gets flipped on you for 70’s bell bottoms.  I guess the moral of this story is, wear what you’re comfortable in and don’t really listen to trends.

The same is true for hair.  The spring 2013 runways showcased everything from low chignon buns to wavy, edgy length.  This is good news for anyone who falls on the ends of the spectrum of hair, stick straight, curly, a mass of hair or almost bald, you’re sure to find a niche that complements your head.  Keep in mind your natural state.  If you find yourself constantly getting frustrated with your mane, you’re probably trying to hard in the wrong direction.  xoxo

From Altuzarra to Gucci, a low knot ruled the runway

Braids came in all shapes from Balmain to The Row.  From side sweeps to the school girl ponytail.

Low ponytails are back again in all their sophistication, from Akris to Michael Kors.

Messy up-do’s were a go from Bottega Veneta to Donna Karan.

And my personal fave, the edgy, laid back wave.  From Isabel Marant to Diane von Furstenberg, gave us this constant favorite.
