What is Ashura?

It is the day when the martyr Hazrat Hussayn was killed in the Karbala Battle.
It was the responsibility of the Grandson of the Islamic Prophet to keep reviving the religion. laihissalam was the one who stood up for his beliefs. The Umayyad Caliphate had a caliph named Yazid.
According to the Gregorian calendar, he ruled from 668 to 683. His nomination was opposed by a lot of Muslims. One of them was a man named Hussayn. There was a policy of killing the one who was against him.

“laihissalam started traveling to Mecca thinking that he wouldn’t be able to follow the Holy place. The thoughts went wrong. His way was blocked by the army of the brutal Yazid. 30000 soldiers surrounded him and his companions.”
He was not giving up. They gave the final warning and limited their access to water. It was a choice between supporting the government or getting killed. Hazrat Hussayn stood by his principles and did not support Yazid.
The result was His Martyr with his companions. The companions remained loyal throughout the time. The family of Hazrat Hussayn were held captive. The leadership role was taken by Hazrat Zainab, who demonstrated what he had done.
Three years after the incident, the cruel ruler passed away. At the time of death, military strength and barbaric nature are powerless.
The legacy of Hazrat Hussain (Alaihissalam) will stay forever, because nature took revenge from Yazid.
What happened in Muharram?
The Shahadat of Hazrat Hussain (Alaihissalam) was just one of many things that happened in the month of Muharram. There is a death anniversary of a Sufi named Baba Farid. On the 5th of Muharram is when it is.

It was one of the most horrible events in history. Muhammad Sirajuddin Niqshbandi was born in 1297 He was an Islamic scholar and a leader in the Mughal Empire. He was the first descendant of someone who built the Taj Mahal.
The Indian Sufi, Ashraf Jahangir Semnani, was born in the year 808. The local ruler of Semnan was him.
Sufis are respected by Muslims. They think that people who are loyal in faith and have an emotional religious journey are such people. The Sufis who died centuries ago were valued by Muslims. People visit the tomb to pay homage to their stories being shared.
